Condensation & Ventilation Info
⚠️ IMPORTANT – Condensation & Ventilation Policy
Please read this policy carefully before purchasing.
All custom headlights, tail lights, and lighting products are professionally built, sealed, and pressure tested prior to leaving our shop to ensure proper seal integrity and quality control standards are met.
💧 Understanding Condensation
Modern automotive lighting assemblies are designed with ventilation systems that allow controlled airflow. Because of this design, light condensation or temporary fogging can naturally occur and is not considered a defect.
What Is Considered Normal:
• Light mist or fog inside the lens
• Condensation after rain or car washes
• Moisture caused by humidity or seasonal temperature changes
• Fogging that disappears after 20–60 minutes with lights on
Lighting assemblies are not vacuum sealed units — they are designed to breathe through vents to regulate temperature and internal pressure.
🌡 Common Causes of Condensation
• Rapid temperature changes (cold weather / warm bulbs)
• High humidity climates
• Rain exposure
• Automatic car washes
• Direct pressure washing near seals or vents
• Blocked, damaged, or missing vent caps
• Improper installation
• Physical damage after installation
Environmental conditions are the most common cause of temporary condensation.
🌬 Ventilation Information
All builds include properly installed ventilation systems to promote airflow and reduce excess moisture buildup.
• Vent caps must remain intact and unobstructed
• Blocking or sealing vents can trap moisture inside the housing
• Increased humidity may cause temporary fogging
• Proper ventilation is required for long-term performance
🚨 When It May Be a Seal Issue
While minor condensation is normal, the following may indicate a potential sealing concern:
• Heavy condensation that does not dissipate
• Visible water droplets consistently forming inside
• Water pooling at the bottom of the housing
• Moisture remaining for extended periods regardless of use
• Sudden excessive moisture without environmental cause
If these conditions occur, inspection may be necessary to determine whether the cause is environmental, installation-related, physical damage, or a rare seal-related concern.
🔧 Preventative Care & Minor Fixes
• Turn lights on for 30–60 minutes to evaporate light moisture
• Avoid direct pressure washing at seals and vents
• Ensure vents are properly seated and unobstructed
• Allow vehicle to sit in warm, dry conditions when possible
